The winter is very cold, but you don’t have to worry about that. Maizena has a lot of great activities planned to keep you warm!
We start with the student-teacher lunch on Februari 2nd. Did you always want to know more about the interesting work that the game research labgroup does? Or did you always wonder how to become a professor or how to get a PhD? This is your chance to answer all those questions! On February 2nd, from 12:30 to 13:30, professor Isabela Granic and PhD student Joanneke Weerdmeester from the Games for Emotional and Mental Health (GEMH) labgroup will join us during the lunch break to answer all our questions about their research and their career. So bring your boterhammen to SP A 01.08 and ask them anything about their struggles and successes as a researcher!
Then we have the monthly VrijMiBo. Let´s kick off the new semester together at Credible on Friday Februari 3, with drinks, snacks and Maizena-‘gezelligheid’!
We have also organised a second general members meeting on Thursday Februari 9 at Café de Fiets. Half a year has passed and we are very interested to hear your opinion about how the association is doing, what could be different or better and where we are going. This is your opportunity to ask questions and give suggestions and we also have some questions for you.
The day after that (Februari 10) we go partying with our fellow psychology masters at Café St. Anneke.
But that’s not all! On the 16th of Februari the Februari activity is planned. More information about this later! 😉
And also when the spring is almost there, we will be keeping you busy. Maizena is going to help the RAGweek to collect money for Stichting Nationaal AYA ‘Jong & Kanker’ and ‘Estrela da Favela’. First of all we are going to do our Maizena Auction again on March 2nd in our sponsorcafé van Rijn. Then, we are going to fight against our fellow research master associations Mosaic and Dondrite in an epic Lasertag Battle (at the Onder de St. Steven gym). The winner will of course receive eternal glory and honour and who wouldn’t want that? And last, but certainly not least, we are going to organise a bakesale, also in co-operation with Mosaic and Dondrite.
